The Whole Person Approach to

Financial Planning

WithThe

Winning Professional Team

The Whole Person Approach

How do you reach your full potential and achieve a happy and successful life? First of all you must discover what you want from life and ask whether you are achieving it. You need to plan. People don't plan to fail, they simply fail to plan!

Many of us make the mistake of concentrating solely upon one or two weeks of life (our annual holiday) at the expense of other areas. To be happy you need to live a balanced life. A lucrative job that leaves you no time for your family, friends or hobbies will not make you happy and neither will unlimited leisure if you have nobody to share it with, or resource to pay for it.

The Whole Person Approach to Successful Living is based on the principle that we are whole people and we need to be fulfilled and in balance in all areas of our lives; otherwise we have problems and reduced performance in all areas. A balanced life is the key to true success and happiness.

Once we have our lives in balance, we will be rewarded with:

Better relationships

Better attitudes

Better self-image and

Greater productivity and success

Financial Success

The bad management of finances causes more problems for people than any other area of their lives. Financial difficulties can lead to marital problems, high stress levels, and can affect health. They also have an effect on people's performances at work, which in turn can cause yet more financial difficulties! If you get this area of your life in balance with the others then you are helping yourself to become more successful.

Financial Planning is the development and Implementation of a plan of action to efficiently make the most of available resources to meet financial objectives. It encompasses at least six areas:

• Taxes • Investments • Estate Planning

• Fringe Benefits and business interests.

• Retirement planning • Insurance

The Financial Puzzle

Financial Planning helps you to get organised.

Today financial planning has become essential for any onewho is serious about achieving their financial objectives.

It is a six step process:

• Gather information • Identify goals and objectives

• Identify problems • Make a plan of action

• Implement the plan • Review the plan regularly

A financial planner does not replace your solicitor, accountant, or stockbroker - we work with them to achieve your goals. They look at your arrangements as a whole, then pull them together to co-ordinate the resources you need to achieve your objectives.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

It is true, the advice you gave me in the late 70's and 80's has been a solid foundation for my future plans. So many people would sell you something trendy or fashionable or just because they were getting a good deal from selling it. O'Halloran & Co are not like that, you can be relied upon for sound advice and support. Thanks again for all you have done for me and my family.

Chris Whittingham (Midlands)

I have had considerable experience of professional advisers, much of it disappointing. Terry O'Halloran is knowledgeable without being patronising, lateral without being scary and offers clear advice. I find him to be refreshingly different.

David Pickersgill (Leeds)

Terry O'Halloran looked after our financial affairs, advising on pensions and investments for many years. We found his advice sensible, practical and advantageous. Terry was extremely helpful to my late husband during his short illness when he advised and put in place safeguards and provision for me and my children. He has looked after my affairs since efficiently, clearly and to my complete satisfaction.

Kay Drummond (Sussex)

Terence is an independently minded financial adviser who is always accessible to provide sound, long term advice and explain the issues involved in planning investment, insurance and pensions.

Michael A Lucas (Australia)

The sad death of my husband in 1983, leaving me with two young children, placed me in the frightening position of planning financially for the future. Mr O'Halloran was recommended to me by a very satisfied client of his. Immediately, the pressure of sorting out my finances was taken from me. Over the many years I have come to trust him as an adviser and a friend. He is a true professional with a simple but comprehensive approach to all financial matters. I value his commitment and totally rely on him and his team.

Mrs J Armson (S.Yorks)

For over 20 years we have relied on the team at O'Halloran & Co to provide short and long term financial planning in many aspects of our working and latterly retirement lives. We have always been impressed with the efficient, friendly and detailed ways we have received this advice. Financial planning is only part of the services we have benefited from - property insurance and taxation matters have also been entrusted to Terry's experienced team at Lincoln.

Philip and Jennie Briggs (Suffolk)

Personal Interests

Terence P. O'Halloran is an Independent Financial Adviser with a wide range of knowledge and experience.

He established his practice in Lincoln in 1970 and the client base has steadily grown since then.

Early in his career he realised that there was a serious need for vocational (How to do) technical books that were both easy to read and understand for the public and industry alike. Clients and fellow practitioners have praised their value in making the complex more understandable.

His first venture - 'You Sign a Little Cheque We Sign a Big One' - was so successful that very quickly this was updated to 'You Sign' which is how it remains after several reprints over the years.

Soon other professionals began to experience and benefit from the writings of Terence O'Halloran and it was not long before he undertook his biggest venture 'Mountains Out Of Molehills' for communicating technical concepts. How do you communicate effectively, in a way that people will respond with understanding.

Terence has always made full use of his experience and this can be seen by his prolific use of actual cases. With 'Mountains Out Of Molehills' a partnerships was formed with the illustrator Bob Lole and so was born the family of Lole's Moles - characters used throughout the book to make the reading and understanding much easier.

More recent publications are - "'Trusts' - A Practical Guide" ,"'Stakeholder Pensions' - A Practical Guide" ,"If Only Politicians Had Brains" and "Building a Business on Bacon & Eggs" all hits with the readers. More details of all the books can be found at Lifepublications own web site.

Terence O'Halloran's latest book is "Hindsight - The Foresight Saga" . There is something new in the financial planning world and it is explored to the point that the reader can exploit it in “Hindsight – The Foresight Saga.” Little has been written about the property market and its relationship with the equity markets or the coincidental relationship that that investment relationship has on bankers. This book is aimed at the private investor but also the professional investment manager because it highlights the mechanism that provides for an almost continuous steady flow of positive returns on invested capital and regular savings.

More details of all the books can be found at Lifepublications own site.
